List of important dates

Tuesday, Nov. 29 - Makeup lab at 11:10, help session at 3:15 pm in E303

Wednesday, Nov. 30 - Exam 4, HW problem on MM due. Make sure you do a Lineweaver-Burk plot to obtain KM. No late acceptance of HW after class.

Black Wednesday hint special for Exam 4 - radioactivity is a first order process. Know how to work problems on web site.

I will not be able to get Exam 4 graded in time for you to use to study so I will be handing out answer keys for Exam 4.

Thursday, Dec. 1 - I will be in the office grading. Some of you have not come by for your Exam 3 yet. I do want you to check the key for grading errors before you take the exam. I will be available to answer questions.

Friday, Dec. 2 at 8 am - Our Final Exam. I will begin the exam at 7:45 for those who want extra time and I will take up the exam at 10:15.

The freebie equations will be the same as those on previous exams.

Tuesday, Dec. 6 when I leave (no earlier than 5 pm) - The last lab report is due. It is a group report and your lab notebooks are due at the same time.

If there are errors or additional dates I will post that I have updated this posting with new info.

Although I will have rulers for use, you might want to bring your own for Exam 4 and the Final Exam.

Finish strong - no regrets!

Campers,

I have your Final Exam graded as well as Exam 4 and the last homework. I will not have time to work on your final grade in the course until Wednesday. I have another final tomorrow morning but would be willing to hand back Exam 4 and the last homework and give you your Final Exam score from 2 - 4 pm on Tuesday (I have never handed back finals and Lane has not taken it anyway.)

The final exam grades for most were very disappointing to me and showed a real lack of understanding of the material. I am very sorry that I was unable to help you arrive at a better understanding of thermo and kinetics. I truly hope that the new faculty hire will be able to get the material across in a more successful way. I know I gave it my best but it was not enough. Time for a change I guess.

I did not advertise the "Honk if you passed P Chem" bumper stickers this semester because I was afraid that I did not have enough. They were pretty expensive to order and had a minimum order requirement. I do have about 17 and would be glad to give out a bumper sticker to all those who made a "C" grade or better on a first come, first serve basis on Friday after commencement - when I should be able to give you at least your lecture grade. I will not be in the office on Wednesday or Thursday since I will need to be grading your lab reports and finalizing your lecture and lab grades (as well as my Chem 1710 class).

Best wishes,

R2
